Façade Improvement Fund
First WACF Matching Grant Recipient
The Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation awarded its first matching grant to the Downtown Wapakoneta Partnership. The DWP was seeking a grant to help fund its Façade Improvement Fund—a program that awards grants to downtown property owners to make improvements to the exteriors of their buildings. The City of Wapakoneta also helps to fund this program. The Foundation proposed a $10,000 matching grant. DWP would need to fundraise an additional $10,000 to receive the grant. They were able to raise more than $12,000 to match the Foundation grant.
This is a perfect example of how Foundation grants can make a difference in our community. Downtown Wapakoneta has become a successful and attractive asset to our residents and an attraction to regional visitors.
