Recently, the foundation completed the first of two scheduled grant cycles in 2021 with the awarding of eight grants totaling $23,500 to organizations that support residents of Wapakoneta and Auglaize County.

The Wapakoneta Family YMCA was awarded $7,000 to assist with Phase 2 of the Splash Pad project as well as a $2,500 grant to be used for the 2021 Annual Support Campaign.

A $2,500 grant was also awarded to St. Paul United Church of Christ in support of their “Take Out Tuesday” adult meal program.

The Let’s Back the Blue organization received a $5,000 grant designated to assist with the continued development of their community support program.

Grants of $2,000 were awarded to both the Downtown Wapakoneta Partnership for its continued historical plaque and façade program and the Auglaize County Roots & Shoots organization to assist with the placement of additional concrete flower pots in downtown Wapakoneta.

Assistance to Riverside Art Center for the purchasing of equipment and supplies for their classroom and gallery was provided through a $1,500 grant.

An additional grant of $1,000 was awarded to the JTD Hospital Foundation to help with the Healthy Baby Fund and the purchasing of HALO sleepers.

The Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation will open applications for the second 2021 grant cycle from May 14th through June 14th.   All applications must be done via the on-line application found on the Foundation website at www.wapakacf.org.
