
Grant recipients at 2022 WACF Annual Meeting
On October 10, 65 members and friends of the Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation gathered in the Wapakoneta Eagles Aerie 691 Banquet Room for the Foundation’s 33rd Annual Meeting. Among other business, WACF Board Members Rex Katterheinrich and Lonnie Pedersen were elected to serve another term on the Board of Directors.
At the conclusion of the meeting, grants from the Foundation’s Community Fund were awarded. Recipients included Children’s Hometown Holiday–$7,500 for its annual Christmas events, Wapakoneta City Schools–$4,000 for the baseball fields turf project, WHS English Department–$3,000 for its GLTF Shakespeare Program, Wapakoneta Family YMCA–$2,500 for its Annual Support Campaign, Lima Symphony Orchestra–$1,500 for its Young People’s Concert,
MAV Mentoring–$1,500 for its Youth Mentoring Program, Roots & Shoots Garden Club–$1,500 for downtown seasonal planters, Miracle Meal, Inc.–$1,000 for its community meal program, Riverside Art Center–$1,000 for stained glass art equipment, and First on the Moon, Inc.–$1,000 for its wrapping utility boxes project with space-themed images.
Since creating it grants program in 2016, the Foundation has awarded nearly $250,000 in Community Fund Grants to thirty area organizations. Several of these organizations have received multiple project grants.
