Program Overview Page.

Grant Program Overview:
The Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation Outstanding Educator Grant focuses directly on the education process. To acknowledge, exemplify and reward our outstanding teachers for their skills, dedication to classroom education and continual support of their students. All current full-time teachers within the Wapakoneta Area Schools will have the opportunity to apply for a grant. The WACF will be awarding two (2) grants with a maximum of $5,000 to each of the two (2) outstanding "special project" proposals submitted.

Grant Program Purpose:
The WACF Outstanding Educator Grant is intended as an opportunity for teachers to: enhance and/or refresh their teaching and motivational abilities; foster educational innovation by funding creative ideas (not supported by school budgets); encourage individual exploration in their respective teaching fields; develop a special project or event; expand their classroom activities; extend their educational knowledge or experience a planned study trip that would enhance their teaching abilities. The Grant program may take many forms, no specific model is prescribed, and the possibilities are unlimited. The grant funding would include supplies, equipment, or any other expense related to the grant. This program is open for all forms of educational "special projects". The Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation will select proposals which: 1) promote creative ideas, 2) demonstrate educational innovation, and 3) make a difference for student learning.

Grant Program Criteria:
The WACF Outstanding Educator Grant is a competitive grant program open to ALL (full-time) Wapakoneta Area School Educators. These teachers can apply for the WACF Outstanding Educator Grant by completing and submitting the application contract and proposal. Although this program is open for all forms of educational "special projects", the Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation selection committee will strongly consider proposals which reflect creative ideas and innovative ("out of the box") concepts that will make a difference for student learning.
